CLIMATE:-

Banana prefers tropical climate and well adopted for humid tropics to humid sub tropics. The optimum temperature for good cultivation is 25⁰ C to 35⁰ C with annual rainfall of 500-2000 mm. Temperature less than 15⁰C and more than 40⁰ C is unfavorable. Relative humidity of 65-70% is conductive for good growth . To save the plantation from strong, recurrent winds providing a wind break all around the field by planting Sesbania, Gliricidia or Castor etc. is recommended.
